Wonderful Home
Stayed: March 30-April 7, 2018
From: Mobile, AL

Wonderful home with all the extras. Unbelievable sunsets, quiet, private beach, water toys, well appointed kitchen and wonderful layout for multiple families.

Boating was no problem with a well protected town dock just two houses away.

I recommend the concierge service to handle grocery shopping and Chef Norris to cook for your group.

We sure hope to make it back soon.

WONDERFUL HOUSE

This house is absolutely wonderful! Not only is it beautiful inside and out but the location is just perfect. Looking out at the Abaco Sea makes sitting on the deck so enjoyable. And the sunsets are just amazing! If you have a large group and are heading to Elbow Cay I highly recommend staying at Sea Life. I promise you won't regret it!

Amazing Place and Home
Stayed: Post Christmas, 2018
From: San Juan Capistrano, CA

Our entire family of 18 had the time of our lives at Sea House over the post Christmas and New Year holiday. The house is spectacular and worked perfectly for our large group.

Monise and her staff prepared amazing meals for us and took great care of us while we were there. The dinners were so amazing that we will make sure to have all evening meals prepared at the house on our next visit.

The beachfront environment was perfect for all of us including all of the younger kids and babies. We all enjoyed the views from sunrise to sunset, and the calm water was perfect for them.

Karina has done an exceptional job in creating a truly wonderful vacation experience and has thought of everything in outfitting the house for large groups. There is plentiful space inside and out so that everyone can find just the right spot to do whatever they choose in either relaxing or being active.

We will definitely be back and hope to build great family memories for all of the family!

I am so happy to hear how much you enjoyed your escape to Sea Life. It sounds like you love it as much as our family. I am anxious to call Monise and let he know how pleased you are with her chef services.
Monise, Bernard and I look forward to hosting you for many years to come!
Best,
Karina

SeaLife Hopetown - Best trip Ever
Stayed: April 2017
From: April 2017

What a great trip!! Karina the owner was very helpful in getting me acquainted with the island over the phone prior to our trip. As this was our first trip as a large group to the island - we were paying extra careful to all the details to ensure all went well.

The place and the island was fantastic! We had a large group of 15 - including 10 kids / teenagers - and there was something for everyone. The fishing was great and the morning sunrise with coffee and sunsets in the evening with cocktails were absolutely perfect. Plenty of room to move around - we never felt crowded. For the kids - being in the downstairs game room / living room with bunk beds worked perfectly. The kitchen, living room and dining room are very spacious and well appointed. The TV room is great next to the kitchen,. The house is set up well with large open spaces - but also other smaller areas for privacy.

The beach is fantastic and is calm and right outside your door. Starting your morning with a swim, paddle board or just floating around was incredible. We typically took quick trips in to town to visit the little shops and restaurants - everyone was so nice and welcoming.

I miss the island and the house and will be back for sure!!

Best House Setting for a Large Group
Stayed: June 2016
From: Neptune Beach, Florida

We had the pleasure of staying in Sea Life this summer. There were ten of us with lots of extra space! This house is perfect for several families to share. Four bedrooms have kings so no one shares a queen bed! The 12 downstairs bunks are very sturdy and XL for taller kids (6' +) They enjoyed the television (brought their own game systems) and ping pong table.

The setting is the most SUPERB we have ever had on Elbow Cay. We have rented other large homes...WaterMark, Bali Hai (not for rent now), Paradise, Barefoot Beach (our first). The house is located on very calm, clear water. We LOVED floating on the rafts watching the sunset. We also enjoyed the 2 paddleboards. I agree with the other reviewers about the oceanside. Our older kids will spear fish and lobster on that side, but it is not conducive for a leisurely swim. This location is PERFECT for younger children.

We drive our own boats from Florida and boat 1-3 times a day. Fishing, Island hopping, going to dinner at Seaspray, Firefly or Lubbers Quarters. There is a public dock very close to Sea Life. It accommodated our 37' and 32' boats. We never had a problem finding a space. GOOD TO KNOW: There have been increasing thefts of outboard engines (or the whole boat) in the Bahamas - including Elbow. If you dock your own boat in a public space, have a lock for outboard engines. We prefer to have our boats at a secure marina - inboard and outboard, but it isn't always convenient. This trip, we rented slips at Hopetown Harbour Marina. It was about an hour round trip there and back to get a boat and drive it to the north end dock. Two people - every morning and evening - not convenient. We prefer to have a dock at the rental house, but it isn't totally necessary IF we can reach the marina by golf cart. It is more convenient for us to rent a house with a dock (like White Sound) or stay on the Central or South part.

This is the second house we have stayed in the North end. HOPE TOWN rules: You cannot drive a golf cart from the north through town to the south. The restaurants WILL PICK UP and DROP OFF at the center, but you cannot drive yourself. The house has many bicycles but we did not use due to the summer heat.

HOUSE - Immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, nice linens

SETTING - Best on all of ELBOW - the calm water steps away is glorious.

LOCATION - not our favorite for boats, grocery or getting to restaurants. But is secluded and quiet.

WORTH THE MONEY

The perfect house on the perfect island
Stayed: January 2016
From: Hanover, NH

We’ve stayed in luxury properties all over the world, and in numerous houses on Hopetown, and this is by far our favorite.

To begin with, the location cannot be beat. Sea Life is on the lee side of the island, overlooking the Candy striped Lighthouse, and Marsh Harbor. My kids loved that they could stumble out of bed and walk right down to the water – and the water is calm. We’ve stayed in houses on the ocean side, but it’s so rough over there, and I’m afraid to let my children swim when it’s rough. Being on the lee side is much nicer, and the ocean it’s a short walk across the road. The best of both worlds!

The owners of this house clearly thought of everything. It’s luxurious and comfy at the same time. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and there is space for us all to spread out. My children loved the bunk rooms and the ping-pong table, and I loved sitting on the deck with a drink in hand, just watching the water. For those who like to cook (like me) the kitchen has everything. Many rental houses skimp on the kitchen, but not here. There hasn’t been one time when I wanted something that wasn’t supplied. I can easily see getting a few families together for a holiday. The four master bedrooms and bunk rooms offer plenty of accommodation, and the open plan lends itself to large groups.

We took the bikes into town a few times, which is a surprisingly short ride, and a nice one at that. We had privacy, but we’re not so far away, like on the south end of the island, that we can ride into town for a quick shopping trip or meal.

And I have to thank the owner Karina for telling us about ‘floating’ at the end of the day. The children and I get on a ‘noodle’ and float in the water outside the house at sunset – and it’s heaven.

I can’t say enough good things about Sea Life and the experience. It's truly magical.

Owner's Response: We are delighted to receive such positive feedback, especially knowing you have stayed in luxury houses around the world and many houses in Hopetown. Thank you for taking the time to describe your experience, we truly appreciate it. We hope to host you and your family again next year. best, Karina Ozment

A Time with Friends and Family at Sea Life
Stayed: February 2016
From: Colorado

Sea Life lends itself to multi-family reunions. Downstairs is a kids oasis with bunks, games and a big TV. The upstairs suites give parents privacy and comes with beautiful views. The main floor has a gourmet kitchen, open living spaces that leads to and amazing outside deck. We had a 5 family reunion at Sea Life and I could not have asked for a better house.

The house had all the fun toys needed. The beach was right off the deck so the kids could play in the water and we could keep an eye on them. There was a lot of fun ocean life with every step. The house was on the north part of the island but you had easy access to the rest of the island. I though the bikes were the best way to get around.

Owner's Response: We are happy you enjoyed your Sea Life vacation and hope your group will return. It seems that what we envisioned for the kids "oasis" downstairs with direct access to the beach worked well for your group, giving both kids and adults their separate spaces to gather. We do enjoy our Sea Life kitchen as well and love that it can accommodate multiple cooks and spectators! We appreciate the thumbs up review, thank you.

Sea Life - what a special place
Stayed: February 2016
From: Colorado

We spent a week at Sea Life - our group was a total of 17 people with a mix of adults and kids. Sea Life provided a special experience for everyone! For the adults who wanted to relax, we had the crystal blue water and soft white sand a step from the house. We read our books or just laid on the sand. With a kayak and paddle board under the porch, those who wanted a bit more adventure headed out into the water for some fun, exercise and site seeing. In addition, there was snorkeling right in front of us where we saw conch, star fish and a little further out were the beautiful Caribbean fish and lobsters.

As a big group, were had more than enough room. The coupes had their own bedrooms and the kids piled into the lower level and enjoyed their bunk beds, the ping pong table and the large screen TV. We all enjoyed watching sunsets right out the back and cooked our dinners on the grill on the porch.

Since Sea Life is on the north end of the island, we enjoyed the quiet, remote atmosphere. The golf cart provided quick access to town, but most of us enjoyed the nice walk.

This was a great get-a-way for our group and we look forward to going back!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your lovely review. We are happy to learn we are indeed on the right track and look forward to hosting your group again next year. all the best, karina ozment
